Nothing Lasts Forever

explores the duality of transformation, the tension between release and renewal.

ACT I: SKIN reflects the beauty of shedding, revealing what lies beneath with quiet intensity.

Through 3D printing and tech-infused processes, the collection captures the power of dissolution, a reminder that disappearance is not absence, but a transformation, leaving behind a beautiful memory etched in time.

Like the snake, an ancient symbol of rebirth and eternal return, SOYUNG embraces impermanence as ritual.

The Second Skin dress dissolves, yet echoes in the space it once occupied. This first act establishes the snake as the brand's enduring motif: a testament to the endless cycle of reinvention that defines SOYUNG.

As the founder, born in the Year of the Snake, this symbol holds personal resonance, woven into the DNA of SOYUNG.

The collection's tone is tender and resolute, as it captures the bittersweetness of letting go, the vulnerability of change, and the profound beauty in embracing what's next.

PHASE II

The Second Skin dress fuses material innovation with the serpent's symbolism of transformation and renewal. It begins as a long-sleeved, floor-length dress in dissolvable fabric, its body covered in white 3D-printed PETG scales inspired by the organic geometry of snake skin. Each scale is coated in hydrochromic paint, shifting from white to grey the moment it touches water. As the base fabric dissolves, the dress sheds like a snake casting off its skin, unveiling a sculptural grey strapless mini dress. Transformed, yet still echoing the form it once held, a beautiful remnant of its former self.
